It’s been nearly two years since we last saw the silver-haired weirdos of House Targaryen cause mischief and kiss their blood relatives, and every day since then, the Freefolk of television viewers have prayed for more. The Many-Faced God has heard you. Deadline reports that House Of The Dragon will return to HBO and Max this June.

The news comes out of the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media, and Telecom conference in San Francisco. Besides being the place for breaking House Of The Dragon news, the conference is where investors and executives learn about how tech companies will shoehorn AI onto platforms in the near future. During a Q&A, HBO’s streaming chief, JB Perrette, said that the show would be among several tentpole series to return a little early. (No, probably not The Last Of Us). The logjam of projects disrupted by last year’s WGA and SAG strikes hasn’t broken, and the release date shuffle continues.

Previously, HBO had anticipated the show returning later in the year. As noted by Deadline, HBO chairman and CEO Casey Bloys anticipated the show’s premiere was coming later in the summer. Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav said it would be out “next quarter” during last month’s earnings call. But as with most things in Westeros, things don’t turn out as expected. Just ask Ned Stark.

But that’s not all. HBO and Max (but certainly not HBO Max) subscribers will get even more Game Of Thrones in the next few years. Aside from the myriad spin-offs floating in development, including Jon Snow, Ten Thousand Ships, and The Golden Empire, HBO says that Game Of Thrones: A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight is coming next year. We can’t wait to start squeezing that title into headlines.
